Winter Safety

Beware of thin ice.  Ice should be at least four inches thick before walking on it.  Watch out for the two warm water springs in Sky Valley Marina that makes the ice thinner than the ice in the surrounding area.  Beware of thin ice where the creek empties into the lake near the launch ramp it is usually unsafe to walk on.

Sky Valley is now an independent homeowners association. There are 294 lots in the subdivision. Each lot gives an owner one vote in the Sky Valley Association, Inc. The membership elects a Board of Directors to manage Sky Valley. The Board hires a staff to maintain the property. Lot owners are bound by their deeds to be members of the Association and follow the rules and regulations approved by the Board of Directors. These organization procedures have functioned very well over the years and has served as a model for many other similar homeowners associations.

Sky Valley is a family-oriented community removed from the commercial-side of Deep Creek. Yet, we are within a few minutes drive to many commercial establishments in the Oakland and McHenry areas. Sky Valley is also near many other recreational opportunities in Garrett County such as:
