To add a photo to a posting you must be logged in with your user name and password. I have attached a  screen shot where to click in order to attach a photo to a posting. Use the Browse button to photos on your computer. You may also use a web link in your posting to attached a photo or video that is out on the web. The attached photo size limit is set to 200K to prevent it form being to big to see on the screen. 150k is about perfect. If you do not know how to resize a photo send it to SV-Web-Master@skyvalleydcl.com and I will resize it and send it back to you.

Once logged in you can rate how much you like a posting by clicking on the stars.  The more stars the better you liked the posting.  See below graphic. The discussion board averages the stars and displays the average.  This will only work after your are logged in with your user name and password.

You may only rate a specific once.  The stars are the average of all the ratings

Tax Assessment Increases

                I am sure everyone is somewhat surprised by the huge increase in your property assessment that recently came in the mail. Some values increased by as much as 85%. You can appeal but everyone is aware of the real estate market here at the lake zooming to record highs in a short time. The Tax Office in the Court House can give info on how to appeal if you so choose. But one thing to keep in mind is that the county must use the Constant Yield process to determine the actual tax rate. This means that as the value of property goes up, the tax rate must come down to yield the same revenue as the prior year unless there are unusual needs by the county. The county commissioners will decide on a new tax rate sometime in the Spring of 2023 for 2024. Stay tuned and it would not hurt to write the commissioners to remind them to be frugal!
